Guide: Lamezia Terme Airport Bus Transportation

I have decided to write a Lamezia Terme airport bus transportation post separately from my initial Lamezia Airport Review since this area of transportation in Calabria is a little more complex and requires some more background information in order to “navigate” it.

Here is the deal with the Busses situation in Calabria:

Public transportation managed by Ferrovie della Calabria is not that great. Their official website is here. The online schedule system seems to work well, and the times posted are likely very updated. Only problem I see is their coverage/times are never as competitive as the few private companies that exist in Calabria.

I compiled a list of the ones that currently operate in Calabria. I have used some of them and for those I will provide a few words based on my experience. If I missed a company that connects the Lamezia airport please leave a comment and I will be more than happy to add it/update it.

I have used this company before to travel between Soverato and Cosenza. They have always been reliable and if you are looking for good connections into places like Badolato, Soverato, or anywhere on the ionic coast. I quickly looked up their connection to Soverato from the airport and looks like they have busses almost every 2 hours. Below is a screenshot of their schedule. The online tool for booking also works really well.

Fersav Bus Company (Lamezia Airport To Tropea mainly)

This company runs mainly from Lamezia Terme Airport to Tropea. They have 2 busses everyday, but I cannot seem to find a website for them, or more details on their timing. If you are looking to get to Tropea though, you are still in luck! Tropea is probably the biggest attraction in the region so there is always going to be many different ways to get there. Remember you can always take a train to Tropea!

This private bus company seems to have the best connections for Cosenza, Catanzaro, and also Catanzaro lido. I am not too familiar with their other routes, though they do have a pretty large fleet/network of buses within Calabria and outside of the region. Their online presence is not great, but you can always use a 3rd party service to buy tickets anyway.
